OvaCue Vaginal Sensor
Vaginal Sensor
To get the most out of the Ovacue fertility monitor, you have the option of purchasing an accessory called a vaginal sensor. Of all the leading fertility monitors available, OvaCue is the only manufacturer that actually offers this accessory. But why is a vaginal sensor needed anyway?
Electrolytes are not only present in saliva, but they are also found in the cervical mucus. The vaginal sensor enables the fertility monitor to collect the electrolyte data from the cervical mucus for analysis. By using this probe, the fertility monitor is able to determine that ovulation has indeed occurred. Knowing that a woman’s fertile window has ended is useful in cases where couples do not wish to conceive. Although, it is important to state that the OvaCue fertility monitor is approved for use by only those who are trying to conceive.
For the vaginal probe to work, the subject must be laying in a horizontal position. The sensor is gently inserted into the vagina to a distance of no more than a half inch away from the cervix. The sensor is angled slightly towards the spine so that it can be submerged in the cervical mucus pool to obtain a precise reading. When a successful reading has been collected, the OvaCue fertility monitor will notify the subject.
Women with irregular menstrual cycles are the most likely to benefit from using the OvaCue vaginal sensor. The data that the sensor provides can be useful for tracking unpredictable fertile windows. Additionally, hormonal imbalances and ovulatory disorders can be identified when using the sensor.
